Ostler Family History

Family of Arthur Ostler and Amy Elizabeth McKee

This web site allows me to share with you all the family history I have collected and hopefully, will encourage you to share with me anything you have that will make this collection more complete and interesting.  It contains information on the ancestors of my grandfather, Leonard Ostler (1906-1966), born in Springville, Utah.  His parents were Arthur and Amy Ostler, the first two on top in the photo above.  Arthur's parents were Samuel Ostler (1856-1927) and Rhoda Elizabeth Oakey (1864-1921) of Springville, Utah, shown in the center of the photo.  Samuel's parents joined the LDS church in England and immigrated to Utah in 1855.  Rhoda's grandparents had joined the church and moved from England earlier.  Samuel was a rancher and miner and as can be seen in the photo, he and Rhoda raised a great family.  Hundreds of his descendants currently live in Utah and other parts of the Southwest.  Amy's ancestors come from early New England.  Her grandparents joined the church in its early days and trekked across the plains with thousands of other Mormon pioneers.  Some of their stories are preserved here for you.

So, welcome and feel free to look around.  Other surnames you'll find here are MCKEE, OAKEY, DIMICK, BEARD, GREEN, SWEAT, GATES, and many others. It's fun to find new cousins, so if it looks like we're related, please let me know who you are.  If you have information to add, won't you email me?  Remember that everything you see here is a contribution from others.  The purpose of this site is to collect, preserve, and share our family heritage and to tie as many of our living relatives together as we can.  I hope that this collection can be a base for further research and a means of avoiding duplication of efforts.
